About the Organization

For over 40 years, immigrant food vendors at FDR Park have faced prejudice and racism while building a thriving community rooted in resilience and cultural pride. In response to these challenges, the nonprofit Vendor’s Association of FDR Park was formally organized in 2021, creating the Southeast Asian Market as we know it today. The Vendors Association of FDR Park (“The Association”) is committed to preserving the legacy of immigrant food vending at FDR Park while ensuring the cleanliness and improvement of this cherished public space. Currently, the Association’s Board oversees the Southeast Asian Market, supporting its development as a hub for entrepreneurship and cultural exchange.
